I’ll raise this at the next comittee meeting in early August and see what we can do. It does take a lot of organisation and time, but we will review.

My daughter Jess and I came along to the club on Sunday and, thanks to the help of Richard Houghton, we had a really fantastic day. I don’t have his email to thank him again personally but if you see him then please pass on my thanks again.Jess really had a brilliant time. We managed to get a couple of boards rigged up.

Having recently got the windsurfing bug again after a break of 20 years, my family spent an enjoyable afternoon on the broad with Martin Harwood and his wife Wendy. Once out on the water we were very comfortable in the lovely surroundings and a fellow member Richard (sorry can’t recall surname) was a great help and encouragement too.
Realy looking forwards to getting some kit of our own now: just got to work out what to get with the bewildering choices out there. I
Regrettably the committee decided there is not enough time to reschedule before the weather turns. Sorry.

A Big Thanks to Martin and Wendy. Its the first Fun day i have been able to make and I’m a bit disappointed I missed the others.
Ben had a bad hair day
What an awesome day, it’s been a while since I was maxed out on a 4.7m and Hicking. Great turn-out, and I’ve never seen the carpark at full capacity before. Well done everyone, including big G for running the training and Dave White from Boards Magazine for popping in and taking so many pictures. Just like to say thanks to everyone who made the funday happen; I really enyoyed the day and thought it was great to have so many sailors down at the club – I guess it’s up to the rest of us to try and catch up with what seemed to be a very fast and competitive top 3; roll on next year!

Finaly made a proper start to the season on Sun 22 April with some good planing conditions, but we were lucky. Just 4 of us. GI rigged up the club race board, JT on his long 80s Mistral, Wend on her trusty screamer / 8m V6, me on the barn door with 9m V8. Sorry too much detail? We were lucky because there was 3mph on arrival, but once on the water the wind kicked in thanks to rain storms elsewhere. F3-4. ideal for an hours worth of 26mph fun. Finally the rain kicked in so hot showers went down a storm! JT was called on to fix the ladies showers, nough said.
A dozen or so enjoyed a tropical day splashing around on the broad and improving our skills . Well done Gareth and me.
Arriving at 8am I was rewarded with another super blast on the Formula board for the 2nd weekend running. An hour and a half of blasting over relatively flat water, and only one of 6 or so craft on the broad.. 20 to 27 mph, blue skies, 26 deg, just heaven. Will have a smile on my face in the office all next week. Après windsurf drinks at the pleasure boat pub with big G, L and S too.
The broad must have been the best place to be in today’s heat…where was everyone?
Well done everybody. A cracking good day that everybody seemed to enjoy! Thanks to all the club members who helped out today.
